The Venue Guide
"The Island House sits on a private island on the banks of the Stono River. With stunning sunsets, a 180º view of the river, and a constant island breeze you can be assured to have your own little piece of the Lowcountry."
Do you want a good view of the stunning sunset on the night of your wedding? You definitely need to consider The Island House as your wedding venue then! Not only do they have stunning sunsets, but in the Spring, when the flowers are blooming, you can find fields of wildflowers that are the perfect spot for bride and groom portraits.
If you are looking for a great exit for you and your fiancé, you always have the option to leave by boat here at The Island House! There are so many opportunities and unique features about this wedding venue that make it a beautiful place to have your special day.
THE PERFECT VENUE
It's the day of your wedding and you walk down the dock to see the beautiful sunset with your now husband...
When you have your wedding at The Island House, you actually get the whole house! There's plenty of room for your full bridal party and family to hang out before the ceremony. And even a room with floor to ceiling windows that is perfect for hair, makeup, and getting ready photos.
This is perfect for sunset portraits! If you have a stunning sunset the night of your wedding, I may steal you both for a few minutes to capture you both just relaxing on the dock and soaking it all in.
Absolutely! There's plenty of room for both of y'all! The guys usually hang out downstairs in a few spare rooms. That way it's easy to shut the doors when the girls come down for photos! And the girls have the full upstairs. Not to mention there are two kitchens so everyone has access to one!
This really depends on where the sun is and what time it is! If there is full sun out we can position y'all to have the sun out of your faces or we can go under the big oak tree! There's plenty of options and we can make the call that morning when we find out where the sun will be and if there will be any clouds!
This all depends on if you are having a first look or not! If you have a first look, we are able to get lots of photos done beforehand, so you can have a later ceremony. But if you don't have a first look you definitely want to have plenty of time to take photos after the ceremony! So I always say if you have a first look, two hours before sunset. And no first look, 3 hours before sunset.
Yes you are able to do a sparkler exit here, but I do recommend that if you do that to have a planner or someone guiding your guests! It can get messy fast and you want a leader to tell your guests where to stand and help them light their sparklers. Keep in mind, since there's a dock, you can also exit by boat!
